Professional Terms & Conditions
Version 2026-09 · These terms apply to every professional listing on or accepting work through Shootix. The client-facing terms are here.
Shootix (“the Platform”, “we”) is operated by NEXTPHASE MARKETING L.L.C, a limited liability company registered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates — Trade Licence No. 1391461, Commercial Register No. 2370982, issued by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism — with its registered office at Office 20-74, Al Ragga, Deira, Dubai, UAE.
1. Your status — independent, not employed
You provide services through Shootix as an independent professional. Nothing in these terms creates an employment, agency, partnership, or joint-venture relationship between you and Shootix. You are not entitled to employment benefits, end-of-service gratuity, paid leave, or any other entitlement arising from an employment relationship, and you are free to work through other channels at the same time.
You control how, when and with what equipment you perform the work. Shootix does not direct or supervise the shoot.
Work authorisation. Listing on the Platform requires you to upload a valid document authorising you to perform paid work in the UAE — a freelance permit, trade licence, or equivalent permission applicable to your circumstances. You must keep this document current on your profile and update it before it expires; an expired document suspends your listing until a valid one is provided. Verification of documents is performed on a reasonable-effort basis: responsibility for holding, maintaining and complying with the permits, licences and visa permissions your circumstances require remains yours, not ours.
2. Your contract is with the client
When a booking is confirmed, a direct service agreement is formed between you and the client. Shootix introduces and facilitates; it is not a party to that agreement and does not perform, supervise, or guarantee the work.
Scope, creative direction, delivery and the quality of the delivered work are agreed between you and the client. Once a booking is confirmed, you are responsible for delivering it, or for telling the client and Shootix promptly if you cannot.
Personal performance — no substitution. The client books you. You must personally attend and perform every booking you accept. Sending another person in your place is not permitted and is treated as a cancellation by you under Section 5. You may bring assistants or crew who work under your direction and at your cost, but they support your work — they do not replace you at the shoot.
3. Commission
Shootix is paid a commission out of the total the client pays for the project. You receive the remainder. The exact amount you will be paid is shown to you on the booking before you accept it, and you are never asked to accept work without it. There is no listing fee, subscription, or other deduction beyond amounts expressly provided for in these terms.
The commission applying to a project is fixed at the moment that project is booked and cannot be changed afterwards. If Shootix changes its rates in future, the change applies to new bookings only and never alters what you were owed on work already accepted.
If you offer a discount of your own (for example a last minute deal), the commission is calculated on the discounted price the client actually pays. If Shootix discounts a booking through one of its own promotions, that discount is funded from the Shootix share: you are paid as though the client had paid the full listed price.
Invoicing and tax. Shootix issues the transaction statement for each booking on your behalf, and issues its own invoice to you for the platform commission on that booking. No VAT is currently charged by the Platform. Responsibility for your own tax position — including VAT registration if your supplies exceed the mandatory registration threshold, and all filings and payments in respect of amounts you receive — rests with you. Shootix does not withhold or account for tax on your behalf. If you are VAT-registered, you must record this on your profile and keep it current.
4. Payout — after the client confirms, within 10 days
Payment for a project is released to you after the client confirms that the work was delivered, and in any event no later than 10 days after that confirmation.
If the client neither confirms delivery nor raises a dispute within 7 days of delivery, payment is released to you, provided Shootix is satisfied the work was delivered through the Platform.
Transfer costs. Payouts to an AED bank account within the UAE carry no transfer fee. Where you choose to be paid to an account outside the UAE or in another currency, transfer and conversion costs are deducted from the payout. Delays caused by incorrect or incomplete bank details are not within our control.
Set-off. Where these terms expressly allow it (Section 5 and Section 8), Shootix may deduct documented amounts from payouts otherwise due to you. Any such deduction is itemised to you in writing.
Every Shootix booking is paid through Shootix. Taking payment for a Shootix booking directly from the client instead — in cash or otherwise — puts that money outside the platform: Payment Protection does not apply to it, Shootix does not guarantee it, and the commission on the booking remains due.
5. Cancellations, no-shows and rescheduling
You may decline any project before accepting it, with no penalty. Once you have accepted a booking, the client has arranged a date — and often a location, a team, and a launch — around you.
If the client cancels a paid booking, you are compensated on a fixed scale, not case by case:
| If the client cancels | Refunded | Kept by the pro |
|---|---|---|
| More than 7 days beforeA week is long enough to fill the date again. Nothing has been lost yet, so nothing is charged. | 100% | 0% |
| 3 to 7 days beforeStill resellable, but the good enquiries for that date have usually already gone elsewhere. | 75% | 25% |
| 24 to 72 hours beforeInside three days a professional has almost certainly turned other work down and cannot replace it. | 50% | 50% |
| Under 24 hours, or no-showThe day is gone. They have kept it clear, travelled or prepared, and can earn nothing else from it. | 0% | 100% |
- One free date change. The client may move the shoot once at no cost by asking more than 72 hours in advance, subject to the professional agreeing a new date. If they decline, the client may keep the original booking, transfer the protected amount to another professional, or cancel with a full refund.
- Client no-show. To claim the 100% tier, the professional attends the agreed location at the agreed time, waits 30 minutes and documents it. The client has 48 hours from the scheduled start to dispute; funds stay protected until Shootix resolves it on the evidence.
- If the professional cancels, the client is refunded in full — at any notice, with no tier and no deduction. Their account is suspended immediately pending review, and serious or repeated late cancellations lead to removal from the platform.
- Weather and genuine emergencies are not cancellations and are assessed identically for both sides: an official NCM adverse-weather warning for the location and date, a medical emergency supported by a document, or the death of a first-degree relative. Evidence within 48 hours; the booking then moves or is refunded in full, with no penalty and no suspension either way.
The retained amount is handled exactly like the price of a completed booking: the professional receives 80% of it, and Shootix retains its standard 20% platform fee on it. Both parties agree the scale is a genuine pre-estimate of the loss a cancellation causes, agreed in advance.
Client no-show. To claim the 100% tier for a no-show, attend the agreed location at the agreed time, wait 30 minutes, and document your attendance (a time-stamped photo or location record and a message to the client). The client has 48 hours from the scheduled start time to dispute; funds remain protected until Shootix resolves the report on the evidence.
Date changes. The client may move the shoot once at no cost by asking more than 72 hours in advance, subject to your agreement on the new date. You are not obliged to accept a new date; if you decline, the client may keep the original booking, transfer the protected amount to another Professional, or cancel with a full refund. No further free changes apply.
If you cancel a confirmed booking, the client is refunded in full at any notice — there is no scale on your side, because a client left without a professional days before their shoot has lost something a partial refund does not address. On cancellation: (a) your account is suspended immediately, pending review, and you cannot accept new bookings while suspended; (b) the outcome of the review — reinstatement, warning, or removal — is determined case by case on the circumstances of that project; and (c) where your cancellation causes Shootix documented direct costs (such as goodwill compensation to the client or the additional cost of a replacement), Shootix may deduct those documented costs from amounts otherwise payable to you on other projects. Serious or repeated late cancellations lead to removal from the Platform.
Weather and genuine emergencies are not cancellations and are assessed identically for you and the client. This applies only to: (a) an official adverse-weather warning issued by the UAE National Center of Meteorology affecting the shoot location on the shoot date, where the shoot cannot reasonably proceed; (b) a medical emergency requiring urgent care of a person essential to the shoot, supported by a medical document; or (c) the death of a first-degree relative of a person essential to the shoot. Supporting evidence must be provided within 48 hours of the missed or moved shoot. Where Shootix confirms the event qualifies, the booking moves to a new date or is refunded in full, with no penalty and no suspension on either side.
6. Delivery, revisions and late delivery
You deliver the edited work within the delivery timeframe shown on the booking, including the revision rounds stated in the price. Further changes beyond the included rounds are a matter for you and the client to agree.
Late delivery. If delivery runs more than 72 hours past the agreed delivery datewithout the client's written agreement to a new date, the client may cancel the project through the Platform. In that case the client is refunded in full, no amount is payable to you on that project, and your account is suspended pending review in the same way as a cancellation by you under Section 5. If a delay is caused by the client — late feedback, unavailable materials, changed scope — the delivery date moves accordingly; record such changes in the booking chat so they are visible to Shootix in any review.
All delivery must take place through the Platform so that Payment Protection and the confirmation process in Section 4 can operate.
7. Your work, and the rights in it
You confirm that you own or are licensed to use everything you upload to your profile, that it is your own work, and that you have the consents required from any identifiable person appearing in it. Uploading a portfolio you did not create is grounds for immediate removal.
You grant Shootix a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display your uploaded samples for the purpose of promoting you and the Platform. You may withdraw material at any time by deleting it from your profile; the licence ends for material you remove, other than copies already distributed.
Rights in the work delivered on a project are as agreed between you and the client. Shootix takes no ownership of client deliverables.
Portfolio use of delivered work. Unless the client designates a booking Confidential — using the option shown at booking where available, or in writing in the booking chat before the shoot — you may display the work you delivered on that booking in your own portfolio and on your Shootix profile, after the client has first published or used it, and always excluding any material the client asks you in writing to withdraw for privacy or safety reasons. Where a booking is marked Confidential, you may not display, share, or reference the work or the client without the client's prior written consent.
Source files and data retention. Keep the raw and source files of a project for 60 days after delivery, so that disputes and revision requests can be resolved. After 60 days, unless the client has purchased the raw files or a dispute is open, securely delete client personal data contained in unused raw material in line with applicable UAE data protection law. Raw, unedited footage is not included in any booking unless separately agreed with the client.
8. Client data, confidentiality and non-circumvention
Contact details and project information are released to you so that you can carry out the booking. You may use them for that booking only. Passing them to anyone else, or using them to market to the client, is a breach of these terms.
Non-circumvention. For 12 months after your most recent booking with a given client through Shootix, taking or performing work for that client directly or through any other channel — where the relationship originated on Shootix — is a breach of these terms. This applies from the client's very first project with you onward: continuing to work with a client outside the Platform after an initial Shootix-booked project, regardless of how the arrangement is proposed or by whom, is circumvention. For any such off-platform engagement, Shootix may invoice you a sum equal to the commission it would have earned had that engagement been booked through the Platform, being the commission it would have earned, and both parties agree this reflects a genuine pre-estimate of the Platform's loss. Shootix may also pursue the amount owed as a debt through the courts of Dubai (Section 13). Clients existing in your business before your first Shootix booking with them are outside this clause.
Loss of Platform access.Once Shootix determines, on the balance of the evidence available to it, that you and a client have circumvented the Platform under this Section, both your account and that client's account are suspended pending review, and confirmed circumvention results in permanent removal of both accounts from Shootix, in addition to the amounts payable under this Section. Neither party may reapply under a different account.
Integrity checks.Shootix operates automated monitoring intended to detect and deter circumvention of this Section. As part of that monitoring, Shootix's systems may, during some projects, put a simulated off-platform proposal to a professional — for example, a message offering to continue or be paid for the work outside the Platform. This is a test of compliance with this Section, not a genuine offer from a client or from Shootix. Agreeing to, or acting on, such a proposal is treated as circumvention under this Section — the amounts above become payable regardless of whether any off-platform payment was actually made, and your account is flagged and permanently removed from the Platform. Declining such a proposal and reporting it through the Platform carries no consequence and is exactly what this Section asks of you.
9. Verification, conduct and removal
Listing requires identity, document and work-authorisation checks and a review of your profile. Any material edit to your profile returns it for re-review before it is shown to clients again.
Shootix may suspend or remove a professional who supplies false information, breaches these terms, behaves unlawfully or unprofessionally toward a client, or attracts serious or repeated complaints.
Where removal happens: (a) amounts properly due for work already delivered and confirmed remain payable to you; and (b) work already delivered but not yet confirmed continues through the normal confirmation and dispute process in Section 4, and if confirmed (or auto-released) is paid to you, less any deductions expressly allowed by these terms. Removal is not forfeiture of amounts earned.
10. Insurance, liability and equipment
You are responsible for your own equipment and for arranging any insurance appropriate to your work, including public liability cover where a venue requires it. Shootix does not insure you, your equipment, or your work.
Damage caused by the client.Where the client, or persons under the client's control at the shoot, cause direct damage to your equipment, the client is responsible for that damage under the client terms. Shootix will facilitate your claim through its dispute process — including sharing your documented evidence with the client — but Shootix does not itself guarantee, insure, or pay such claims.
To the maximum extent permitted by UAE law, Shootix's aggregate liability to you in connection with any project is limited to the commission it received on that project. Shootix is not liable for a client's acts or omissions, including non-payment on any arrangement made outside the platform, nor for indirect or consequential losses.
You indemnify Shootix against claims arising from your own acts or omissions in performing a booking, including claims relating to rights in material you supplied.
11. Disputes
If a disagreement arises between you and a client, Shootix will facilitate a resolution in good faith and may withhold, split, or release protected funds where it reasonably determines that to be appropriate. This is a facilitation service, not a guarantee of any particular outcome, and it does not make Shootix a party to your agreement with the client.
12. Electronic acceptance
Creating a professional account and accepting a booking constitute your valid electronic consent to these terms under Federal Decree-Law No. 46 of 2021 on Electronic Transactions and Trust Services. We record the date, time and version of the terms in force when consent was given.
13. Changes, governing law and contact
We may update these terms; the version in force when a project is booked is the version that governs that project. Material changes are notified to you and apply to new bookings only. These terms are issued in English and Arabic; in the event of any inconsistency between the two versions, the Arabic version prevails. These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and any dispute with Shootix that cannot be resolved amicably is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai, UAE.
