Client Terms & Conditions
Version 2026-09 · These terms apply to every project booked through Shootix. Professionals listing on the Platform are covered by the Professional Terms.
Shootix (“the Platform”, “we”) is operated by NEXTPHASE MARKETING L.L.C, a limited liability company registered in Dubai, United Arab Emirates — Trade Licence No. 1391461, Commercial Register No. 2370982, issued by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism — with its registered office at Office 20-74, Al Ragga, Deira, Dubai, UAE.
1. Who we are — and what Shootix is (and is not)
Shootix ("the Platform", "we") is an online marketplace operating in the United Arab Emirates that introduces clients to independent creative professionals— photographers, videographers, models, studios, and related service providers ("Professionals") — and facilitates the booking and payment process between them.
Shootix is an intermediary and facilitator only. We are not a party to the service agreement between you and the Professional, we do not ourselves perform, supervise, or direct any shoot or creative service, and we are not responsible for the execution of your project.
2. Your contract is with the Professional
When you book a project, a direct service agreement is formed between you (the client) and the Professional you select. The scope, creative direction, delivery, and the quality of the delivered work are matters agreed between the two of you and are the responsibility of both parties to that agreement — not of the Platform.
Professionals on Shootix are independent contractors. No employment, agency, partnership, or joint-venture relationship exists between Shootix and any Professional, and Professionals are not authorized to make commitments on the Platform's behalf.
The Professional you book attends and performs personally: substitution is not permitted under the Professional Terms. Professionals may bring assistants or crew who work under their direction.
3. What the Platform does do
We verify Professionals' identities, work-authorisation documents and portfolios on a reasonable-effort basis, present a fixed price before you commit, and — where you pay through Shootix — hold your payment under Payment Protection and release it to the Professional only after you confirm the delivered work. Shootix is paid a platform fee out of the project total for providing these services. That fee is already inside the price you are shown and is never added to it — the figure you agree is the figure you pay.
If a disagreement arises between you and a Professional, our dispute-resolution team will facilitate a resolution in good faith (including withholding, splitting, or refunding protected funds where we reasonably determine it appropriate). This facilitation is a service, not a guarantee of any particular outcome.
4. Prices and what is included
Every price shown is a fixed and final total for the booking you selected and is the amount you pay — nothing is added at checkout. No VAT is currently charged on bookings.Editing and the stated number of revision rounds are included. Where your shoot location is outside the Professional's own emirate, a travel amount is shown as a separate line and forms part of the project total.
Deliverable counts (photos, videos) are stated as a range because they genuinely depend on the length of each cut and the difficulty of the shoot. Raw, unedited footage is not included in any booking unless you agree it separately with the Professional.
Only one discount applies per booking. A promotional code you enter takes precedence over any automatic offer, and a booking already discounted by the Professional (for example a last minute deal) cannot be discounted again.
5. How you pay
Every booking is paid through Shootix by payment link. The money is paid to Shootix and held under Payment Protection: it is released to the Professional only after you confirm the work was delivered, or as otherwise provided in these terms.
Paying the Professional directly in cash is not a Shootix booking: money that never passes through us cannot be held, released, withheld, split or refunded by us, and Payment Protection does not apply to it. If you arrange anything of that kind with a Professional, it is between the two of you and outside these Terms.
6. Cancellations, rescheduling & refunds
A booking is only live once the Professional has confirmed your date. Before that, you may cancel at no cost and nothing is charged.
Once the booking is paid, what you get back depends on how much notice you give. A date reserved for you is a date the Professional turned other work away for, and the closer the shoot gets the less chance they have of filling it again — so the amount they keep rises exactly as that chance falls.
| If the client cancels | Refunded | Kept by the pro |
|---|---|---|
| More than 7 days beforeA week is long enough to fill the date again. Nothing has been lost yet, so nothing is charged. | 100% | 0% |
| 3 to 7 days beforeStill resellable, but the good enquiries for that date have usually already gone elsewhere. | 75% | 25% |
| 24 to 72 hours beforeInside three days a professional has almost certainly turned other work down and cannot replace it. | 50% | 50% |
| Under 24 hours, or no-showThe day is gone. They have kept it clear, travelled or prepared, and can earn nothing else from it. | 0% | 100% |
- One free date change. The client may move the shoot once at no cost by asking more than 72 hours in advance, subject to the professional agreeing a new date. If they decline, the client may keep the original booking, transfer the protected amount to another professional, or cancel with a full refund.
- Client no-show. To claim the 100% tier, the professional attends the agreed location at the agreed time, waits 30 minutes and documents it. The client has 48 hours from the scheduled start to dispute; funds stay protected until Shootix resolves it on the evidence.
- If the professional cancels, the client is refunded in full — at any notice, with no tier and no deduction. Their account is suspended immediately pending review, and serious or repeated late cancellations lead to removal from the platform.
- Weather and genuine emergencies are not cancellations and are assessed identically for both sides: an official NCM adverse-weather warning for the location and date, a medical emergency supported by a document, or the death of a first-degree relative. Evidence within 48 hours; the booking then moves or is refunded in full, with no penalty and no suspension either way.
Both parties agree that this scale is a genuine, agreed pre-estimate of the loss a cancellation causes at each stage, not a penalty. The retained amount is handled exactly like the price of a completed booking: the professional receives 80% of it, and Shootix retains its standard 20% platform fee on it.
Refunds. Refunded amounts are returned in full, with no deduction for payment-processing fees, to your original payment method within 7 days. Where a booking is cancelled by the Professional, the refund is processed within 48 hours of your confirmation instead.
One free date change. You may move the shoot once at no cost if you ask more than 72 hours before it and the Professional agrees a new date. If the Professional does not agree a new date, you choose one of: (a) keeping the original booking as confirmed; (b) transferring the full protected amount to a replacement Professional we propose; or (c) cancelling with a full refund and no deduction, regardless of the table above. No second date change is available: after the free change, a new date means cancelling under the table above and rebooking.
Missing your own shoot. If you do not attend, the Professional may claim the under-24-hours tier after waiting 30 minutes at the agreed place and time and documenting it. You have 48 hours from the scheduled start to dispute that, and your money stays protected until we resolve it on the evidence.
If the Professional cancels, you are refunded in full — at any notice, with no tier and no deduction. The Professional's account is suspended pending review and cannot take new bookings. Where the date allows, we will propose a replacement Professional; you may accept the replacement or take the full refund, which is processed within 48 hours of your choice. Protected amounts not yet released remain protected while a request or dispute is being handled.
Weather and genuine emergencies are not cancellations and are assessed the same way for both sides — an official UAE National Center of Meteorology warning for your location and date, a medical emergency supported by a document, or the death of a first-degree relative — with evidence provided within 48 hours. The booking then moves to a new date or is refunded in full, with no penalty either way.
7. Delivery, revisions and acceptance
The Professional delivers the edited work within the timeframe shown on your booking. Revision rounds included in the price are stated before you book; further changes are a matter for you and the Professional to agree.
Late delivery. If delivery runs more than 72 hours past the agreed delivery date and you have not agreed a new date, you may cancel the project through the Platform and receive a full refund. Where a delay is caused on your side — late feedback, unavailable materials, changed scope — the delivery date moves accordingly.
Confirming delivery releases payment, so please review the work before confirming. If something is wrong, raise it with the Professional first and open a dispute through the Platform if it cannot be resolved between you. If you neither confirm delivery nor open a dispute within 7 days of delivery, payment is released to the Professional — so review your delivery within that window.
8. Conduct, safety and lawful shoots
You are responsible for lawful access to the location and for any venue permission or filming permit it requires. You agree not to ask a Professional to do anything unlawful, unsafe, or outside what was booked, and to treat them professionally on the day.
Equipment. You are responsible for direct damage to the Professional's equipment caused by you or by persons under your control at the shoot. Shootix facilitates such claims through its dispute process but does not itself insure or pay them.
Contact details are exchanged so the booking can happen. Using them to solicit the Professional off-platform, or passing them to anyone else, is a breach of these terms.
Non-circumvention.This applies from your very first project with a given Professional onward: continuing to engage that Professional directly, or through any other channel, instead of booking through Shootix — regardless of how the arrangement is proposed or by whom — is circumvention, on the same terms set out in the Professional's own terms. Shootix may invoice you the commission it would have earned on the off-platform engagement and pursue it as a debt through the courts of Dubai (Section 12). Once Shootix determines, on the balance of the evidence available to it, that you and a Professional have circumvented the Platform, both accounts are suspended pending review, and confirmed circumvention results in permanent removal of both accounts — neither party may reapply under a different account.
Integrity checks. Shootix operates automated monitoring intended to detect and deter circumvention, which may include putting a simulated off-platform proposal to a Professional during some projects to test their compliance. This does not change anything you need to do — it exists to protect genuine clients and Professionals from the platform being bypassed around them.
9. Rights in the work, your privacy, and confidential bookings
Rights in the delivered work are as agreed between you and the Professional. Shootix takes no ownership of your deliverables.
Portfolio use — and how to prevent it. Unless you designate the booking Confidential — using the option shown at booking where available, or by stating it in writing in the booking chat before the shoot — the Professional may display the work delivered on your booking in their portfolio after you have first published or used it, and must withdraw any material you ask them in writing to remove for privacy or safety reasons. Marking a booking Confidential means the work cannot be displayed, shared, or referenced by the Professional without your prior written consent.
Your personal data. We process your personal data in accordance with Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data, to operate the Platform — matching you with Professionals, taking payment, and supporting the booking. We release your contact details to the Professional you book so that the shoot can happen, and Professionals are contractually bound to use them for your booking only. You may ask us to access, correct or delete your account data at any time, subject to records we must keep for legal and accounting purposes. Full details, including cookies and analytics, will be set out in our Privacy Policy; until it is published, ask us through the support channels on the Platform and we will answer in writing.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by UAE law, the Platform's aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with any project is limited to the platform fee we received for that project, and we are not liable for the acts, omissions, delays, or quality of work of any Professional, nor for indirect or consequential losses.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded under applicable UAE law, including your rights under Federal Law No. 15 of 2020 on Consumer Protection.
11. Electronic acceptance
Ticking the acceptance box at checkout constitutes your valid electronic consent to these terms under Federal Decree-Law No. 46 of 2021 on Electronic Transactions and Trust Services. We record the date, time, and version of the terms you accepted.
12. Governing law & jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates, and any dispute with the Platform that cannot be resolved amicably is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Dubai, UAE. Nothing in this section limits any right you may have as a consumer to raise a complaint with the competent consumer-protection authority in the UAE.
13. Changes & contact
We may update these terms from time to time; the version in force when you fund a project is the one that applies to it. These terms are issued in English and Arabic; in the event of any inconsistency between the two versions, the Arabic version prevails. Questions or complaints? Contact us via the support channels on the Platform, including WhatsApp support.
